Best version of this song. I have sung this to my daughter to sleep (now 4 years old) every night and now she calls it "Daddy's Song". I just change the last verse to "Bless my Hannah forever." Thanks for the post.

This has always been my favorite TV Christmas Special,

besides Julie & John, there was the great tenor, Placido Domingo. Like you, I taped this when it aired - only once!

Thanks, Cortlandt. I can remember another performance of Julie Andrews singing "In the Bleak Midwinter" which was so beautiful. Can't recall if it was in this same Christmas special. I'd love to see that again.

This is beautiful, their voices truly compliment each other. I was brought up on John Denver by my father who, like John, died young (18 years next week). Thanks for posting, this has helped me to connect again

Meu vídeo favorito no Youtube. Não consigo explicar em inglês a emoção que sinto ao ver e ouvir Edelweiss com Julie Andrews e John Denver. Comprei neste Natal (2009) duas cópias de The sound of music. Uma para minha esposa e outra para os amigos. Fico feliz que ainda hoje tantas pessoas no mundo se unam para comentar e manter viva essa memória. Julie e John cantam com amor e emoção no olhar. Inesquecível ! Abraços do Brasil.
