The Cassiar Asbestos Corporation, of Cassiar, BC, Canada, presented this little wind-up clock to Mr. Ed Thirlwell. Mill Superintendent (deceased 1995).

The video wasn't actually recorded in Cassiar, but that is where the clock was presented, and that is more important.

Note how the logo on the clock face fades in and out. Richard Hess put forth the suggestion that cross-polarized filters make possible the fading effect. That makes perfectly good sense.
