A 1964 student production of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing at Birmingham-Southern College was set in the 1920s and included interspersed film segments featuring the cast. The film was shot on campus in the style of the silent movies of the 20s.

Constable Dogberry and his colleagues were modeled on the Keystone Cops. Dogberry himself was played by Britt Leach, who subsequently distinguished himself as a character actor in films and on television. The production was directed by Dr. Arnold Powell.
