  • @SaLvaTedByRaZors Sorry for leaving so many comments. But since you weren't aware, I did the research for you. From the Therion (band) wiki: "However, the band's name is a homage to the Celtic Frost album To Mega Therion." From the To Mega Therion (album) wiki: "To Mega Therion was the magickal motto of the British occultist Aleister Crowley." The Celtic Frost album title was inspired by Aleister Crowley, and the name of the band "Therion" is inspired by the Celtic Frost album.

  • @SaLvaTedByRaZors and yes, the Celtic Frost album To Mega Therion was inspired by reading about Aleister Crowley. Google search: "to mega therion album wiki." Go to the wikipedia page and you will see for yourself that the name of the album was inspired by Aleister Crowley.

  • @SaLvaTedByRaZors That's awesome. I have several Greek friends living in Greece. My point was that Aleister Crowley is INCREDIBLY popular. Almost everyone knows who "the wickedest man in the world" is...it's more than probable that both Celtic Frost and Therion got the word Therion from reading about Crowley. In fact, the chance of that being correct is incredibly high...

  • @h4s4t4n Dude, forgive me but....I'm Greek, I'm completely aware of the meanings of the words. To Mega Therion doesn't always refer to this Thelema prophet Aleister, it was also an album of the band Celtic Frost. In addition to this, the number 666 is used across the world to show the presence of the devil and superstitious people tend to avoid numbers such as 13, 7, 666 and other stuff. So what?

  • @SaLvaTedByRaZors No one said they were, dude... "To Mega Therion", which is the Latinized form of "Τὸ Μεγα Θηρίον", literally means "The Great Beast", and the number of "Τὸ Μεγα Θηρίον" in Greek Numerology is 666. Τὸ Μεγα Θηρίον was a name Aleister Crowley gave himself. Nobody ever said the band were Satanists... Aleister Crowley isn't a Satanist either... Satanists deny the existence of ALL deities and spiritual beings. Denial is part of an oath taken to become a Satanist.

  • @h4s4t4n Therion aren't Satanists man

  • I kind of wish they did the full Carmina Burana version, but I won't complain. I love Therion!

  • @hypebreaker Did you ever think the group might have took their name from To Mega Therion? To Mega Therion is 666 and the handle of Aleister Crowley.

  • @Kiddeth

    Amen

  • heh this dude tok an arrow in the knee
