@djspair I remember him having that SP-12 cause he did TL back to yell on it and brought it to my house on Hollywood street many times so I think your story is legit and got a free copy of that beat tape tony d had it on from Fats
-
O.p.p was the Jackson 5 they took parts from the Jackson 5

@Puppaducka If That's What You Wanna Call It. The Key Thing To Remember Is That Neither Tony Or Kay Gee "originated" This. They Both Sampled The Material. Kay Gee Didn't Jack This Beat. He Further Developed It. He Filled In What He Felt Was Needed For It To Become "different" And That Became OPP
-
@KAs619 So what are you saying? Kay Gee knew he was stealing the idea from Tony's record?
-
Aee You Guys Serious? How Can Someone "Jack" Someone Else, When That Person Is Not Even The Originator Of The Song? Y'all Are Silly As Hell. Naughty By Nature Manipulated The Above Heard. Added A Woodblock Fo The Beat. They Actually Sampled A FULL BAR Of "Synthetic Substitution" Where As Tony's Loop Cuts Off After The Last Snare Before Looping Over. C'mon People Wise Up. Know How This Game Works Before Posting On Shit. Kay Gee Knew What He Was Doing.

Thx For posting this. I was friends with Tony. Real hip hop heads know that this was his productions. Only ignorant people will say it was naughty. Tony was responsible for a lot of music in the 90's. Miss u

Matter fact both beats rock but Im down wit opp
-
Every body shut the. Fuck this beat is dope n its naughty by nature
-
@djspair good point about it being the "concept."
-
No disrespect to the legend Tony D, but that beat isn't all that, just because NBN made a huge hit out of it doesn't make it great. He used a very common "substitution" beat and top 40 J5 schlock "ABC" yawn
He made so many better beats. One of my faves is Crusaders for real hip hop's-Kicked to the curb, I still don't know what he sampled on that but it's a dope classic!
umm hate to burst yall bubble.. but me an my cousin "mac - g" made this beat on a casio sk5 yall.. an we gave it to "Fats" the manager of "Tuff Crew" in exchange for a SP-12 drum machine.. but we were like 14 - 15 at the time an the sp - 12 was the shit so we thought we was gettin the best of the deal.. an jus in case yall wanna know how much sample time we had.. 5 seconds.. how did we do it?? thanks to the one technique turntable we had.. damn this bring back memories..

@azh1975 so what are you saying? you made the beat that was on Tony's record?? What was Tony's affiliation with Tuff Crew? Can you submit more evidence than this story?

Idiot...it was originally sampled from the Jackson Five...ABC, way before 1989...thats where Tony D sampled it from

@only4mal Did you read the video description? I clearly stated that Naughty By Nature sampled "Adams Nightmare" for O.P.P. Rumors had it that Tony even took them to court but lost based on the fact it was not his original work. Yes we all know both sampled the "Jackson 5 ABC". Fact remains that Tony's concept was ripped off.
