I was there for the 4:14am launch of the Shuttle mission STS-130. This time, I'm using a tripod with fluid-head control, which provides much smoother tracking.
Of course, someone had to run a very noisy generator right behind me.

    I used a Nikon D90 with a cheapo 400mm and 1280p mode.

    A good tripod is even more important!
