"Rain or Shine" was a Broadway musical by Albert Haim. It ran in the George M. Cohan's Theatre (built 1911, demolished 1938) from Feb 9, 1928 to Dec 15, 1928. Music by Milton Ager and Owen Murphy; Book by James Gleason and Maurice Marks; Lyrics by Jack Yellen.
In 1930, the film director Frank Capra directed a movie with the same title and based on the same story.
Jack Selig Yellen (Jacek Jeleń; July 6, 1892 - April 17, 1991) was an American lyricist and screenwriter. Yellen wrote the lyrics to more than 200 popular songs of the early 20th century. Two of his most recognized songs, still popular in the 21st century, are "Happy Days Are Here Again" and "Ain't She Sweet."
Milton Ager (October 6, 1893 -- May 6, 1979) was an American composer. Ager was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1979.
Sam (C.) Lanin (September 4, 1891 - May 5, 1977) was an American jazz bandleader.
Irving Kaufman born Isidore Kaufman Syracuse, New York (February 8, 1890 -- January 3, 1976) was a prolific early twentieth century singer, recording artist and Vaudeville performer. The son of Russian Jewish immigrants, he was a member of The Kaufman Brothers, along with his brothers Phillip and Jack.
