@BillKing8888 I strongly agree. I think this had to do with her childhood being quite isolated.
But honestly, I must say the standards of parenting in the last 100 years have worsened. Mothers are drinking, acting and dressing like their 20 years younger than they really are, bringing strange men in and out of households and barely looking twice at her children- who by the way, are from three different fathers.
Of course, not all mothers are like this (thankfully).

She was rather a stern mother "because she saw herself as responsible for the moral development of her children". Really! Just like every single other mother I've ever met. A banal documentary built on folktales and supposition.

thats how all mothers should be. queen victoria yay.

Can anyone give me the name of the painting at the end of Victoria lying in state?
Although a brief and beautiful put documentary, I must say that 30-minutes are not enough for the life and reign of such a fascinating figure, who still holds enormous mesmeric imagination on us to this day!

if anyone has the chance to visit osbourne house do it certainly a wonderful family home and I was amazed by all the paintings but couldn't get my head around how queen victoria got in the hut in which she got changed in prior to going swimming in the sea at osbourne plus her servants fitting in it to help her it must of been a very tight squeeze to say the least
