This is me doing some crazy drifting in a first-tier Hyperon in Dethkarz.
The game isn't meant as a drifting sim, but by using the keyboard (as opposed to a more precise analog control like a wheel or a pad) and limiting yourself to the first-tier cars, it's fairly easy to powerslide all day long. The Hyperon seems to be the easiest to drive sideways, as the others are either too slow (Blitzwagen), too grippy (Astor) or too damn fast (Anassi). You can still drift them, but the results are less spectacular.
If you use a higher-tier car it becomes almost impossible, as they're all too grippy and way too fast.
Dethkarz is old (came out in 1998 during the peak of the 3Dfx era), but still very fun, and runs in Windows 7 x64 with no need for emulation. Also, it's one of those games that run fantastic on weak hardware like laptops with Intel GMA graphics. Remember to use a voodoo wrapper (I use dgVoodoo, but the most famous is Zeckensack's). The abandonware game lacks the installer (just as well, as it doesn't work under Win7), but unpacks the game ready-to-run. However, it also lacks the video configuration shortcut; to make it, add "/c" at the end of the dethkarz.exe command line.
Finally another Dethkarz video on YouTube! Thank you! :)
