The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas, geared at an atheist and non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin (ACA), a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

You would have to prove That in China and the Soviet union their NON-belief in god is what caused them to kill millions of people. Which you can't they killed those people because they did not want to worship the state as they would a god. Communism is a secular religion and religion is bad be it theistic or secular.

@kriz2far I'm glad I'm not dyslexic or that would have been really confusing (god - dog). Not a bad reply, except a couple of things. First, I am an accounting academic and I never saw the need for religious obedience as you say. In fact, loyalty to absolutes puts you at risk of ontological and non-reflexive realism in a critical field. That is bad. Second, I am not sure whether you can compare human to dog. I see what you mean, but the psyche is completely different. Comment further?

A dog being the human and a human representing God. little do people know that a dog is a man's best friend, so what does that say about humanity (god) if you get me. it's also that their field of science can't account for the behavoir of the individual, or themselves so they turn to a faith.

@LamaPaj "If he was an atheist then he would have had no belief" - do you mean he had no political belief or no religious belief? in stalins case he did have political beliefs ie communism, but he had no religious beliefs, with which i would fully agree with you on; needless to say a person can be an atheist and still be religious and/or spiritual eg Buddhists

@sij747 If he was an atheist then he would have had no belief... Also, communism has been against religion since karl marx made the foundations for it. Karl Marx called it an opiate for the masses meant to keep the working class happy even though they lived in horrible conditions.
