  • I have 3 family members who are alcoholic and then AA. They all expected me to go to al anon. Nope. Their addictions, their abuse, their neglect, their problem. AA just allowed them to transfer their addictions and their self centered manipulations continue. No I am not going to al anon so I can be ok with their abuse. The abuse needs to stop and so do these cults that enable continued abuse.

  • Take what you like and leave the rest.

  • Program is totally hosed. Hit its peak in the late 90's, declined and will never ever get better since they require you to break your anonymity to be in an Alateen meeting and share your experience , strength and hope. Just a bunch of closet drinkers who hide behind their own denial of child abuse. At one time, EONS ahead of AA, now just a smattering of dump meetings that could care less about the 12 traditions or those who remind them they are not recognizing them.

  • I know what you mean. A.A. is very judgemental if you don't drink. I went to a meeting on Friday by accident I thought it was AlANON and they were very rude to me when they found out I didn't drink. Alanon isn't so bad but it's very religious based and says alcohol is a disease, to me I think it's a cop out for the alcoholic and I felt it was a very brainwashy meeting.

  • Hi Im a member of Al-Anon and think its a brilliant program for recovery ie. getting oneself back or finding the authentic self I live with a recovering addict and the evidence shows me that the program works one day at a time if you work it...its not a cure just a daily reprieve and thats good enough for me x

  • "many older members"

Freaks and lairs you mean?Alanon is there to trick people into AAs cult.....Nothing else...

Go to an AA meeting and hear how they laugh at non alcoholics...Calling us stupid and sick people.....cos we are not alcoholics..AA is a LIE....

My partner became well after she left AA FACT...

    AA IS THE DIESEASE.....

  • People DO get forced into AA/NA by courts and employers, then scared into staying by their lies....

Then families get roped into the nonsense too.

    Videos like this are promoting!

And the old timers are MAD.

  • godless, it means no one is forced to go, the ones who go are because they are attracted to the peace many older members show.

  • Our public relations policy is based on attraction, rather than promotion. Hmmm...... ok
