Nicholas Spanos sings "Oh Sea,Trees and Mountains" - " Θάλασσα Δέντρα και Βουνά" (based on a Greek folk tune) by Yannis Constantinides - Γιάννης Κωνσταντινίδης
......................................................

Oh sea, trees and mountains
- oh, my little mint bush -
you cry for me, too...
That I lost my love
- oh, my two eyes -
and wander in foreign lands...

Ach Meer, Baüme und Berge,
- du, mein kleines Pfefferminz -
ihr weinet auch für mich...
Das ich hab meine Liebe verloren
- meine zwei Augen -
und wandre in die Fremde...

Piano: Anastassios Strikos
Πιάνο: Αναστάσιος Στρίκος

Violin: Dimitris Karakantas
Βιολί: Δημήτρης Καρακαντάς

  • This it just super! A very short piece but I right away I feel like travelling to Greece again to have a sit among ancient ruins in the shades of olives and myrtlies, to enjoy dorada, stewed on coals, wash it down with delicious white wine from Peloponesos and feel on my skin the cool of the evening breeze, blowing from Rhodes and Cyclades...."

  • Such a different sound here... so warm, reminiscent and nostalgic... amazing low register that speaks out the pure heart... and an exquisite violin that sings along this wonderful melody whose origins are lost in time... a wonderful choice!!! Bravi tutti!

  • Wistful, moving, achingly lovely : I adore this song, and so much admire Spanos for giving us insight into a different facet of his musicality. The low notes are nothing short of stunning and the video is also excellent. Thank you for a great experience.

  • просто волшебно...а скрипка как вовремя!!!!!!!!!!!!Восточные мотивы и потрясающий голос Спаноса...Давно ничего подобного не слышала ,очень-очень понравилось!

  • Very enchanting music. It evokes wonderful imagery, and creates a peaceful tranquil mood.

His voice has a different quality here which shows another wonderful side of his artistry..Thankyou for posting!

  • @fourmi1060 I wonder how come we listened to the same pieces again almost at the same time:-). It's pure magic.... And also Nicholas Spanos as a singer has no limits. He can sound very high and very low like here in perfect accordance with the music and image. It's really amazing how he can change his voice that it sounds as if a different voice! It's undescribable! How does he do it?:-) And when he sings it seems that it's so easy and the most natural thing in the world to sing like that:-)

  • μπραβο Νικο!

  • Plavos, what a wonderful video, what a wonderful tribute to the music and the musicians. It is subtle, simple, and very moving. It carries the emotion of the music as do the performers. Excellent.
