Glenn Beck has described his August 28 Restoring Honor rally with outrageous hyperbole, calling it everything from "an American miracle" to a "defibrillator to the heart of America." Beck has also claimed that with the rally, he and his audience will be able to "reclaim" the "distorted" civil rights movement.

@seattle8686 Why should liberals show up to vote for Obama? Liberals just as much as moderates and conservatives are suffering from Obama's incompetence. Liberals are losing their jobs and homes just like more conservative Americans. And liberals just like conservatives are on the hook for the massive debts caused by Obama failed stimulus packages, his failed Wall Street bailouts and Obama's failed escalation of the Vietnam War in Afghanistan.

@seattle8686 Almost two years into Obama's running the government and still he's blaming the Republicans for his failures to turn things around. Americans expect the President to take ownership of problems and solve them. Instead, a bunch of egghead academics who don't know their asses from holes in the ground about running the government blame the previous administration for their own incompetence. It's like the boy blaming the dog for why he didn't do his homework. (the dog ate it).

@electango Obama is not incompetent. He knows what he is doing. He is selling out to corporate lobbysists like every other politician. It isn't incompetence, it is just self-serving.

And right wingers have no impact on Obama not getting re-elected kid. If you think you have anything to do with Democrats losing, you are mistaken and uninformed.

Obama won even though McCain had won every single category in the GOP.

@electango Untrue. Please cite your source on that because the CBO in early 2008 that unemployment would be over 10% in 2009 and 2010. Obama had to deal with job losses caused by the Great Recession Bush put us in. Foreclosures are at all time highs as well as a result of the recession as well.

I don't think Obama has handled it the best way either, but you cannot make claims that are simply untrue.

And Obama is not incompetent. Again, you have not proven your case.

@seattle8686 Obama is in over his head. He doesn't know what he's doing. He has made things much worse. Unemployment and ho9using foreclosures are much higher than under Bush. America is weaker in the world militarily than under Bush. Because Obama is soft, lazy and inept.  Obama is a complete disaster as President and America is the victim of his incompetence. And that's why in the upcoming midterm elections, Obama is going to get a message from voters which will make his head spin.

@seattle8686 Bush is out of power and if he committed a crime he should be punished. So far, Obama has not charged Bush with any crimes because he has adopted most Bush policies including the Patriot Act and the Vietnam War in Afghanistan. In the case of the relief pitcher--if the starting pitcher didn't get the job done and the relief pitcher didn't get the job done, you don't leave the relief pitcher in the game and yell at the starting pitcher. You bring in a new pitcher.
