Petes one of the most talented song writers n performers of a generation (in my opinion obviously!). I've seen him twice with babyshambles and once with Libertines,each time was fantastic. Putting him onstage at Live8, with its mainstream following was a mistake,his talents were never gonna shine in the middle of the afternoon to the picnic people! Go and have a good listen to the Libertines. Then you will actually see what this man is about.

He's not just some drugged up bloke who became famous for going out with Kate Moss for a few years, you know. He's a very talented songwriter.

I have absolutely no doubt that the Libertines was a good band or that Pete Doherty is a good writer. However, even a 2 year old baby who has not yet been exposed to the shite that is being produced continually by the music business would know that in terms of dreadful performing, this has to be the worst of the worst. The blame should be on Geldof though, or even Elton John.

I think Pete's great, obviously not in this but this isn't the type of song he should be singing, and he probably didn't choose to sing it. People who haven't read his poems or listened to his songs are ignorant to the talent which he has!

He's not a rockstar, it was pointless getting him to sing this. Regardless of how brilliant everyone seems to think he is at writing his boring indie tunes, he is not a good singer. Very few "rock stars" are these days
