What About This? - Courtney Act - Live & Untucked

"This is a track I wrote after being mugged in the streets of Darlinghurst. The physical trauma wasn't so bad, scratches, bruises and some blood, it all healed quickly, but the emotional scars it left took a long time to get over. Being physically aggressed, especially some where you call home, is such a disempowering feeling.

It took me a while, but i realised that something terrible must have happened to the bullies too, to make them want to do this to me. It just didn't make sense why someone would act that way. It was in the writing of this song that I found an empathy for the bullies and realised that to really get to the cause of bullying we must help the bullies as well, not just the victims.

The bullies are being bullied by someone higher up the food chain. None of it makes it right, but perhaps a greater understanding can bring some solace?
