we are a generation of men raised by women. Our mothers tought us to eat all the soup and getting a lolipop at the end for being a nice boy. Our fathers didin't spent many time playing football with us so we didn't learn to be competitive, fight for stuff and be impulsive. So in the XXI century we have "men" who tolerate all kind of disrepectful shit from women who don't worth it. I completely agree with you that guys can be mean, well, people in general can be good or bad regardless of gender. Sometimes I think it might have to do with what area we live in, because I have tried being somewhat gentleman-like while growing up, but I was still treated like crap by peers.
