Piano lessons from the Dr. Seuss film "5000 Fingers of Dr. T ". Tommy Rettig (Lassie star) and Mary Healy. Lyrics:
Ten little dancing maidens
dancing oh so fine,
Ten happy little fingers
and they're mine all mine.
They're mine, they're mine,
now isn't that just fine,
Not three, not five,
not seven, and not nine;
But ten all dancing straight in line,
And all of them are mine, mine, mine,
Yes, they are mine, all mine!

  • can you upload the boys part?

  • @mymayapapaya What do you mean, "the boys part" ?

  • Have you noticed that Tommy plays the piano piece on the white keys : that is, he is playing the piece in the key of C . However, the sound track is playing the piece in the key of Bb ! (Of course, it's someone else actually playing the piece ). Strange that they would play it in Bb...

  • I sing this song to my preschool class and they love it. My assistant teachers look at me like I'm crazy though cuz I'm the only one that's ever heard of this move, much less seen it.

  • I always wanted a t-shirt like this little guy. My mother did eventually get me one, and the denim jeans and Keds.. She knew I would be happy if I could look like an American kid...Oh boy what memories, I had a great childhood growing up in the 50s

  • Why do I suspect she's going to whack him with that thing in her right hand if he doesn't get it right?

  • @kfspiano In the complete scene of this number, I believe Tommy Rettig also sings the song.

  • Nice

  • @kfspiano when he sings the song... it's funny

  • anyone have a clip of those creepy conjoined beard twins on the roller skates? that's what i remember best from that movie

  • I LOVE THIS JAM!

  • This was corny even in the 1950s, when the movie was made. That's part of what the film is about. lol.

  • It's intentionally a stupid song. At the climax of the film, Dr. Terwilliger forces 500 piano students to play "the greatest song in the world: 10 Dancing Fingers." , He's so vain he thinks his dumb little piece is worthy of conscripting 500 boys and brainwashing all their parents to play his stupid piece on his humongous piano. Watch the whole movie and you'll understand.

  • @kfspiano It's a clarinet piano! or any other Bb instrument I suppose....

  • I love this movie! brings back memories.

  • same here I got it recorded on DVR and I'll put it on a DVD at some point

  • too bad i cant find the music for this...

and i do so wish i could find more of this on youtube

  • Yes, I noticed that too!!! Nice eye!!!

  • Nice tune, but I prefer by far, from the same movie, nostalgic "Dream stuff" (can't manage to find it on youtube), gloomy "Elevator song" or boisterous "Doe-me-doe duds".

  • To me, this song unfortunately comes across as sappy, not catchy. I think I would've been annoyed by it when I was a little kid.

  • i love this movie

  • i love this movie i wish i can find thw whole movie

  • I love this part

  • This is the catchiest toon ever! Brings me back so many memories. (wait, I'm not from the 50's, I used to watch this in the early 90's :))

  • It's the best Dr.Seuss film and one of the best fantasy films ever made.

  • i wish i could play piano like that
