  • It's the 3Gs. This works with the 3Gs, 4, and 4s.

  • Hi, What about non itunes videos on a Windows PC? Or photos? Can I watch say my home videos from my camcorder or digital camera? TV shows I have recorder on my TV tunner (AVI files) can I stream any of these videos without having to convert to itunes mp4? Thanks

  • @winkipinky As far as I know, itunes on a PC should allow you to select what folder you wish to view pictures from on the AppleTV. Videos in your iTunes library are available on the AppleTV in the computers section.

Streaming from an iOS device has to be either itunes content placed on the device or a YouTube video.

If you have AVI content you want played on the AppleTV, I suggest either converting it all and importing it into iTunes, OR waiting for a good jailbreak option for the AppleTV

  • Just google search Step by Step Guide on How to Successfully AirPlay AVI, MKV, WMV, DivX, MP4, MOV Movie Files to Apple TV?

you will find a simple solution

  • which iPhone is that, will it work with an iPhone 4, not the 4s

  • @pausecast lol you look like a chester aka (pedophile)

  • I love the music, can you tell me what it is?

  • Why is there scary music?

  • Nice to see a happy face

  • Haha, my friend is in the Walking dead

  • @Hector95100 continued: If you're interested, Buckloot.com sells these converters. Just search "Optical Toslink to Analog Audio Converter" or "Optical Toslink to Digital Audio Converter". Keep in mind that unless you have another remote with an on/off button, you will still need to turn on your TV to navigate over to "Sleep Now" option when you want to turn off your AppleTV unless you plan on doing so blindly. Good luck.

  • @Hector95100 continued: audio to your external digital or analog speakers. If you fail to get the right converter you will hear nothing but static. You will also need an optical toslink audio cable to connect your AppleTV to the converter. Depending on your external speakers, you should be able to connect easily to the converter using simple RCA cables. The benefit to this is that you don't need your TV on and this works for older TVs that don't support HDMI cables.
