  • I have been taught to pronounce the "G" in Måndag....ect, I'm confused..

  • I think that most people in Sweden don't pronounce the G or maybe it's just our dialect(Stockholmska), but it's not wrong if you do pronounce it. You can say måndag or månda.. but you should always spell it with the G. ;)

  • Sol is not a god, it's the sun.

  • According to wikipedia (and some other sites) Sol or Sunna was a nordic sun goddess. I know that sol means sun. It might be wrong since you can't trust wikipedia, but I don't know.

  • @LearnSwedish08 the solar motiv appears at dacians, and thracians too, is that too common even with Sumer's and Egypt sun gods ?I would say yes too all

  • @alizarazell they say that they loved each other so much that they did incest...

  • Din Mamma = Ur mother (Use Google Translater)

  • @LearnSwedish08 yes, Sól is a Norse goddess! And Máni (the moon god) is her brother. :)

  • I don't know much svenska but I know this lesson. Still it's a good video.

  • the days of week is based in nordic gods like torsdag= day of Thor

  • @TehCacti it is a g ^^

  • Without thinking on it I too say "månda" but of course it spells måndag..

  • @TehCacti Me too. Proper language courses that you buy online etc will teach you *proper* Swedish when in reality Swedes miss the end of a lot of words.

'och' is pronounced like å, and är is pronounced just like 'e' and Jag, Dig, Mig etc and most words ending in g tend to omit the g. I went through three books before I managed to find out!

  • @TehCacti

As "LearnSwedish08" said you don't pronounce the "g" in most swedish dialects. And if you do pronounce it sounds very formal. Therefore I strongly recomend you to leave the G:s.
