This is real Rock, not like the over produced crap we get today.

I've often wondered what became of Gayle (the gal from the north), Phil's girlfriend at the time and inspiration for the song. I vividly remember him pointing to the door from the stage when she arrived and calling out the Dublin expressing "look what the wind just blew in" Still my favorite Lizzy track, from fellow Crumliner, Ellen x

Nah, alevkelley.. Still riddem changes thruout the period of 1973-1977 circa. Then came the metal era which I alas realize Phil could stay strong against. Even after 77 ya can hear bursts of this like in Black Rose.

This is an absolute gem. Typical pre Whisky In The Jar Lizzy. Much more "frantic" than the album version and EXACTLY what they were like live at that time .....the kind of stuff that had you pinned to the back wall with the bass and drums thumping you in the chest. Oh how I miss those days.
just amazing the strange rhythmic changes that all got lost in the post bell era. I wish there was an endless supply of old lizzy stuff on youtube, I almost get depressed when I hear a new song or version cause I know it is depleting the stock.

Damn, this rocks. It's one of my favorite up-tempo tunes on the debut album; "Return of the Farmer's Son" is the other. (If the "New Day" ep is included in the mix, I'd list "Old Moon Madness" too.) Eric Bell was just tearing it up here. This performance is pretty astounding.
