I despair at kids who think knowlidge is useless if you can't get a job out of it. kids this is not what your brain is for! Its an amazing device, and you become better people for putting amazing things inside it!
I spent 5-6 years studying not even enrolled (I kind of convinced lecturers to just let me sit the classes, and skip out the exams) and I don't regret a minute of it, because knowledge makes me a better man.

Very cool, just so you know there are two prerequisite courses before this one. You can actually go to mitopencourseware and watch all the lectures now if you want. Take care.

great initiative, but I hope more diversity in courses can follow in the fall which non-geeks can relate to.

Honestly It was a great course, I took it and I feel as if I have learned a lot! Don't get me wrong- I totally failed the course! But It was still a great experience, especially for a sophomore in high school! Thanks MIT for the great experience, and I hope to take more of these edX courses in the future :)

The worst that can happen is that you fail. Only you would know, and the course staff have said that those who do fail are free to retake the course when it's reoffered.
