  • 'Images merely facilitates a way to form these connection but the image itself is not remembered once the connection is formed.'—that is an invalid proposition. In accordance with Ralph Haber's experiment postulates that 'visual stimuli suggest that recognition of pictures is essentially perfect.' (Buzan 2007, p. 72).

  • The primary idea for developing personal style in mindmaps is to enforce natural associations since the brain tends to recall them far easier and better due to the interest created as well as pervading the 'fill up the gap' technique.

  • Clearly, you are providing self-contradictory assertions. The Loci method in a similar vein, involves imagery and colours that enhances you to recall them better on the basis that you are required to recall the location (isn't this not imagery and colours?) and advancing through the use of sequential thoughts (also in line with tony buzan's book).

  • yes on the spot, this person hasn't read his books so his clueless. i'm reading them now, but wanted to see if there were videos on this subject.

  • beauty colors images has nothing to do with memory. All that the brain remember is connection connection connection. Images merely facilitates a way to form these connection but the image itself is not remembered once the connection is formed. The mind map is limited in that even though it emphasize on association creation one is restrained to just a centralized concept which narrows ones perspective on a given subject. The Loci method offers a more elegant solution really.

  • The mindmap doesn't puts the brain to sleep. On the contrary, it utilises both left and right cerebral cortex of the brain in order to stimulate more brain activities that enhances memory recall. In reference to Tony Buzan's book, u r supposed make the mindmap lively by means of emphasis (eg.colors, images), association(eg.codes, arrows), state of being clear and developing a personal style(making it as beautiful as possible for the individual).

  • mind maps is a perverted derivation of the Russian doll method sure it has some sound ideas on the mind but the monotonous design of this so called mind map only puts the brain to sleep. one is much better off developing ones on style that would be more meaningful and individualistic
