This documentary is so fantastic.
And the way it kicks of with that little rascal looking straight into the camera, eating the roses and acting like a Boss...i can watch that over and over again.
It really shows his fire !

There have been many excellent Canadian horses over the years.
Northern Dancer and Dance Smartly are my 2 favourites.

The best ever to come out of Canada!. They had a HUGE exhibit at Woodbine today at the for the Oaks. They had Winfield's silks, and winning photo of his Derby, and Queen's plate victories. on top of other interesting artifacts. DA CHAMP!

Northern Dancer is great-great-grandfather to my friends horse called Strandgårdens Lafayette ! :)

to bad Winfield Farms is now history. I do hope the person who bought the main house with the graves will allow those of us who loved Dancer will let us still come and pay our respects

Secretariat was the greatest race horse of the 20th century but in my opinion Northern Dancer was the most important horse of the 20th century

They need to make a movie about Northern Dancer. They have a movie about "Seabiscuit" and now coming out with "Secratariet" (which was ridden by a canadian)... But they need to do a movie about Northern Dancer!!! THE BEST RACE HORSE THAT EVER LIVED!!!!!!

Yes Northern DAncer ran twice on turf as a 2 year old at woodbine in 1963. He won 1 and finished 2nd in the other and yes i agree he is considered the greatest sire of the 20th century.Not bad for a little horse with a big heart that no one wanted as a yearling. If only he had won the belmont he would be considered one of the greatest horses of all time
