Indeed, grains may not be the healthiest choices - gluten or gluten free. Fruits, vegetables and grass-fed or wild animal protein are better choices overall for most people. They will contain less saturated fat, more mono-unsaturated and poly-unsaturated fats, fiber, minerals, vitamins and energy sources of glucose. But not everyone agrees on sprouted versus whole grains.

Meat, fish and plants all contain mono-unsaturated, poly-unsaturated as well as saturated fats. They contain them in different proportions. Meat & fish contain some saturated fats. What the animal eats determines the amount of saturated fat they contain. Grain fed animals (livestock, farmed fish) will contain more saturated fat than grass fed animals or wild stock. Grain fed animals will also have less omega 3 essential fatty acids (good fats) than their grass-fed or wild counterparts.
