Why does your oil need to be strong?

In recent years we've demanded more and more power from smaller engines. The average level of operating pressures within the engine has doubled over the last 5-10 years with pressures generated in excess of 10,000kg per square centimetre.

With your engine under such pressures, you need the confidence in your oil to demand maximum performance. So your oil needs to be strong.

Fluid strength

The only thing that stands between your engine parts and their metal-to-metal contact is the engine oil. The fluid strength of your oil is tested more than ever before so it needs to constantly remain strong, and continuously respond and adapt to the demands of the engine through every driving style.

Your oil needs to have the fluidity to reach all the parts of the engine, but also the strength to endure and adapt across a range of extreme operating pressures.

Watch the film above for more information on oil strength.
