@3Wander6ing Hi,yes the lyrics do speak for themselves,I have a friend who does not like trees,Would not want to be stranded on a desert island with her,no soul ,other friends,can't stand country music lyrics or the sound of a steel guitar,they too have something lacking in their moral fibre.No on a desert island with them either.

My grown up son has recently taken up hand wood carving and has a real spiritual feel for the attributes of the different kinds of wood.

There is so much soul in Dan's voice and the lyrics of this beautiful song.

I think it is a masterpiece,it tells a story of how a boy becomes a man,in a short time,after a talk about trees.Amazing lyrics.
