Made from John Smith Universal Organ project leftover materials: wood, steel rod, brass, screws. Mainly constructed with wood so, of course, only runs on air. 7/8" bore, 3-1/16" stroke.

  • This is sweet! I love stuff like this!

  • Very enjoyable to build. Thanks.

  • sure ran nicely. Wood--i wouldn't of thought of that. Pun intended ;)

  • Thanks. The wood cylinder bore was not accurate so fixed it with a piece of 7/8" inside diameter aluminum tubing. Bob

  • Hi Bob, Beautiful machine!!! It also gave me an idea for a fun project for my second-year machine shop students.

  • Tom, forgot to mention that that wood cylinder caps were also machined on lathe. Bob

  • Thanks very much Tom, Since this project was primarily wood construction, The only lathe work was for eccentric device which operates steam chest. This too was made with wood.

  • Hi CW, You are doing a much greater work than model engines!! Keeping the classic country songs alive is your calling I believe. And doing a fantastic job at it! Thanks for all you do and thanks for looking at model engine--glad you like it.
