Okay.. I'm trying to learn how to begin tattooing, but I need to learn as much as I can about the machine first.. obviously but now I'm more confused than ever... if anyone can help me find either a better or more in depth video it would be most appreciated!

@Headshothorror4488 I live by a built up line , but when you are doing sleeves and long outline sittings its nice to throw down a solid line with one pass. I don't use any gauge to tune my machines , All i use is my power supply . The key to great tattooing isn't in the machine its in the artist, haveing a well tuned and built machine helps out alot. It allows you to preform at your best .

@Headshothorror4488 Right on , It sounds to me like you are being taught well. I run my color machine with a 18 spring for the speed and a 20 for my duty . speed being the front spring and duty being the back spring. That allows my to use my color machine as my shader as well. For my liner i run 18 in front and back, I cut the contact point half way back and run it at 80-90. it can be used as a shader or color packer as well. it puts down a nice solid line. Built up lines are very good .

exactly on the machine talk, i was talking to a guy tattootraining on here, told me a machine cant run with a 16g front OR back same for a 17g haha. I know this guy is not garbage and those who say he is most likely cant tattoo or there just ignorant kids. Tattotraing says u must have a tension gage to tune a machine 375-450 or the machine cant tattoo. What do u think of that ? Do u use a gage and if so what #. To me i think of tension(back spring) as duty cycle.
