Max Roach opened with a solo, fixed his hihat, and picked up the brushes without blinking an eye. In the process, he changed the groove three or four times, without a hitch of any sort. And Diz... came riding on melodies and arpeggios... dancing in and around the beats... This whole record is a Masterpiece!
