Filmed at North Central College by a North Central College Secondary Education Alumni. To be used with direct instruction, the video explains the components of Iambic Pentameter. Don't you frown! Woaaaahhhh let me tell ya
What's goin' down
Iambic pentameter
Don't you frown
Cause, it's been around
Since you and me could speak
Just listen to its sound
It sounds like a heart beat

BaBumBaBum Bumbumbababumbum

Since you know what a sonnet is, that I won't repeat [activate prior knowledge]
You simply take a line of the verse and divide by five feet
Then you take a foot and stomp the words out
Unstressed and stressed syllables makeya peep and shout
Then you take it all and put it to a rhyme
I know it sounds hard, it just takes a little time
And when you write your own it becomes quite clear
The best rapper alive was who? (Knolwedge)
Will Shakespeare

If you think I'm playin' then you better play the radio
Cause this is not a joke, it's something you should know
That any hip hop song climbin' up the pop charts
Iambic pentameter, where it had its starts
Can you imagine why? (Synthesis)
Of course it works better to memorize lines
when you're on stage
in the middle of the play
nothing brings you more rage
than forgettin' what to say
So next time you hear about a boring Shakespeare
You know the truth, you yell 'lend him an ear' dude
Cause hearing this language is kinda cool
Let me show you the way, and you'll learn so soon
Without the masters, the rappers, and hip hop EMC's
We'd a never ever heard, to be or not to be.
