  • I am shocked that there's been no word of the Janissaries in this season yet. We've got Joan of Arc who, despite being a significant leader, wasn't actually much of a fighter, but not one of the most renowned and respected military groups of all time?

  • @KAPTAINmORGANnWo4eva That's why i think William the Conqueror will beat Joan of Arc. But yes Janissaries were very elite soldiers and they deserve a spot in Deadliest Warrior. maybe next year eh?

  • hernan cortes will fight 4 conquistadors not the conquistadors them selves

  • @theJRLMchannel he will fight with 4 or 5 other conquistadors

  • Ottoman Janissary was the special force of Ottoman army. They were picked among the population specifically for fighting and they started their training from the age of 10-12. And not all of them could make to the army. They did this business for life. So, they were professional soldiers. They were not the people that you call to the army when needed. And they almost always fought against collection of Christian armies of Central and Eastern European countries. They faced 3-4 of them against 1.

  • @hknskr yea its quite amazing how young they were, that's why there were such skilled warriors

  • @Gaskovichs You forget that at the same time that Spanish conquistadors were rampaging across central and south America, the Spanish tercio units from which most conquistadors came from were fighting the French, English, Dutch, Ottomans, protestant Germans, Danes, and Swedes...often at the same time. The Spanish Tercios were the dominant military force in Europe for about 150 years.

  • i dont understand why some people choose conquistadores.. They fight heavily armored againts foes with no armar AT ALL... i mean they didnt but i wouldnt even care when a conquistador kills 20 aztecs alone.. Aztec had no steel armor and conquistadores were HEAVLY HEAVLY armored... that doesnt count as equals at all. and thats their only succes. defeating uncivilised people.

  • @dkrustyklown stupidly... Janisarries were so fierce and clean of emotions and they are picked up by the ottoman army AS they born, raised to only fight and kill! how could normal wariors grown by their families defeat such foes.. Childish and sounds like one sided.

  • OBVIOULSY Ottoman Janisarries, they are picked when they born and never see their families again, clean of emotions, and trained only to kill and fight (if u had 3 sons one of them would be a janissary)... But conquitadors are normal soldiers ...

  • ottoman i do alot of research on them there empire was 12 century to the beginning of world war one in the 19 century NOT CONQURED but disband the goverment

  • Ottomans Win. Osmanlılar kazanmak

  • The best spanish military force at that time was not the conquistadors but the Tercios, who dominated the battlefields of Europe for more than a century.

  • @dkrustyklown

the janisarry didnt rebel in the fashion you are thinking. its not like they would just run away in the middle of a battle, they rebelled against sultans who has made unjust decisions and/or antagonizes the janissary as a whole.

They rebelled againts unfair kings. They weren't cowards.

  • @dkrustyklown The Battle of Lepanto happened after the Spaniards conquered and exploited a significant amount of the Americas. This is what led to the power decline of the Ottoman Empire. Obviously, the Spaniards would have the upper hand in the Battle of Lepanto.

  • There is one factor that is ignored on this board: loyalty. In all of the history of the Conquistadors, only one rebelled against his King; a man named Aguirre. That's it, one. Can the same be said for the Janissary troops? No. They rebelled so frequently that they were disbanded as a threat to the empire. The Conquistadors were, more than anything, aggressive diplomats who practiced the art of divide and conquer by preying on and manipulating individual rivalries and desires.
