  • Man that cab is really quite, is it true that these cabs were quiter than the sound guards and JD

  • @Deereman1010 I think it was a pretty even match on quietness. I haven't operated many soundguard tractors, but I know both companies were claiming they were the best. For a 1973 designed tractor, it wasn't too bad. Certainly far better than anything farmers were using before then.

  • This 156hp tractor was the second most powerful row crop when introduced in early 1973.

  • I think this one was running extra strong as well. I am suspicious that the engine was from an N6 Gleaner or a 7080/7580. When I first brought it home it was running faster than my other 7050. This one is a great runner.

  • @HCC886 Grow up some. Allis cabs are very quiet. I drove a 4755 for the neighbor last year and his dash was heating up too. Made the whole cab hot and the lights would go dim so we couldn't use it at night. It's on the list for things to FIX this winter. The 7000 series Allis tractor are very reliable. The transmissions are almost bullet proof. Can't say that for a 1586. I worked in both CaseIH and Allis shops. I know their problems.IH has many many more than AC. That's why I farm with AC.

  • These AC Diesels were VERY easy to turn up the power on and their rating was a bit low IMO. We jacked up the injectors on our 7040 and were putting out around 165 horse which was about 30 more then she came from the factory with. That 7040 was a great tractor.

  • Nice orange color my friend!

  • @Deereman1010

sound guard is a john deere cab, and yes the acusta cab was quieter. really well designed series of tractors, most everything is ground serviceable, hood system is well designed, etc. I really like these old allis'.

  • I grew up in s 7060, disced a lot of acres and pulled a lot of grain with it, miss it terrible. those old AC are the best ! Our family stopped farming 10 years ago but still own the home farm, hope to get it back some day.

  • @Deereman1010 hell no. i used to run a 7045 for a guy i work for. loudest damn thingi ever drove. in the summer the dash would heat up the whole cab evem with ac on. it was a major money pit. glad he got rid of it. got a 1586 now.... a whole lot better.

  • @Deereman1010 Yep. Nebraska test shows a couple decibels quieter than comparible Sound Guard Deere.
