@daeuri Well i think i did not understand your mess wrong. Top dancers these days are very good at technique, but still far away from the level of some tops in the past. It's merely about technique, not passion or their own beauty... Luca just chose the approach showing his so different and impressive techniques more than his other comtemporary tops.

@duongdinh2712 An example of my earlier message is Mirko/Alessia's performance of the Tango at Blackpool in the Pro Finals in 2009. I have never seen a Tango performed with the power and the speed of that performance. Nonetheless, I have tired of watching that Tango.
That said, I will never tire of watching the Barrichis performance at this competition. The floorcraft and the flow of this performance is peerless.

@duongdinh2712 I think you may have misunderstood my response to marduk1894. Sometimes, you have to be willing to acknowledge another's point of view in order to get them to consider yours.
If power, precision, and speed were the only hallmarks of technique, then there could be a healthy debate about which generation had the better dancers. However, I think artistry can be expressed through technique, and it is in this regard that Mirko cannot hold a candle to Luca.

@daeuri mirko cannot be compared technically to luca lol. The Luca's generation (with Marcus, Massimo and Pino...) is the best.

Mirko/Alessia may be charming people, and you may have a point they are technically better dancers than the Barrichis, but to me they have little to no charisma on the dance floor. The Barrichis always exuded charisma, both in how they connected to each other and how they connected to the audience.
I think what we are seeing now is how Dance Sport is sacrificing the emotional component of dance on the altar of technical proficiency.

I completely agree. Look at the lesson that M&A give on waltz on YT. They didn't smile for one minute. Sigh
