Martin Love of My Lifespan Contest - Dale Toth

Song was written for the C.F. Martin Guitar Co. As part of this contest, participants were required to write an original song using the word LIFESPAN (named after their newer long life strings) in the song. Rather than write a standard, I approached it in my head as a song that might be ideal as perhaps the background music to a commercial for the strings. Hope ya like it. I pick you up round 6 o'clock
We gotta move no time to stop
We've got miles to travel now before we get to play
Packed up in this SUV

Tonite will find out if it's true just what I've heard 'em say...

Abner, Thanks. I appreciate that. Yeah, ideally wouldn't be my topic for a song, however I kind of figured most would end up writing more about life or love based on havin' to use "LIFESPAN" in the tune, so with that I opted to go the opposite way and approach it more as a song for a potential commercial. Either way, glad ya took time out to listen.
