Patrick McGoohan (The Prisoner, Secret Agent) mounts a horse from a standing jump in this scene from The Gypsy and the Gentleman, 1958. Do you see anyone do this anymore? No! Why? Because it's HARD! He makes it look easy, but my friend's athletic brother hurt his groin trying this.
Y'all say its easy....but do you look THAT good when you're doing it?!

I could do this when I was younger. Patrick McGoohan is my favorite actor and I think he was a boxer when he was younger, so he must have been pretty atheletic. Actually, bareback riding is scarey if you havent done it much--he looks like he might have had some riding experience. RIP Patrick--the king of the spies of the 60s.

I do that when I'm too lazy to walk the horses in from the pasture. :)

I used to play mounted games and we did running vaults at the gallop! I mount my 16.2 hand horse this way only because I am to lazy to use the fence!lol

Yes, I could do this too - when I was 12 on my 14 hand horse! I'm too old now and my horses too tall but I think but I might try it anyway ;-).

Same, I can do that on any horse.

That was neat. If anyone wonders why their horse wiggles around when they get on, its probably cause they do like this guy: get on and run (or at least walk off too soon)
