My children, on a magic winter afternoon, (and a cameo appearance from ex-wife by the park bench) and the sound of two little bands I played in back around the millennium- hey did anyone else have a personal end of the world around that time?- the first is a practice session at my old business- I know the git's slightly out of tune at the start- but that was a real jet passing overhead- and I wanted it on the track, so kept going- tuning up 'on the fly'. The second tune was played live at the first and last gig of the surf rangers, w/ me on v. and guitar. Debbie Nelson played bass and Carol Negro, drums. The tune was one Peter Green covered before dropping out of sight and out of mind. I can relate. Because of the awful distance gender difference has somehow caused, my kids and my mom are my only real family anymore. Focussing on their love, what they mean to me, is the only thing that beats the blues, sometimes.
