  • I've been in the construction industry for 15 years now. One thing you should really develop, which will help you in your career, is your communication skills whether its written, drawn or spoken. Also having the ability to think outside the box as there are numerous solutions to a problem though sometimes the contractor / client are blinded by cost, usually opt for the cheapest isn't always the best solution and you'll have to back up your reasons why solution x is better than y.

  • im currently studying engineering atm..will major in civil..starting salary in australia is around 78000 but can be way more depending on how good you have gone (high distinctions/thesis mark)..generally after 2 years in the profession you will be on 120k a year as a site engineer..promotions to project engineer, construction engineer and higher yield more
