Sonic and friends make a return in the second installment of the Sonic Rivals series appropriately named Sonic Rivals 2.
This time around you pick 4 teams of two...
Sonic-Tails
Shadow-Metal Sonic
Knuckles-Rouge
Silver-Espio
Although paired up you race solo alternating characters depending on which character out of the pair you've chosen to do the story for.
The Story mode has everyone once again chasing Eggman for different reasons all of which seem to be the same as the last game or just the same as always.
Kinda lame.
The actual story as a whole is just crap mostly, almost as if a room full of people with sticky notes wrote one word down per person and they added together for a story.
Its lame, the main boss comes out of nowhere in a wanna-be all epic way...its sad.
That aside the game plays, looks, and sounds great.
They still have the completely pointless card collection thing but whatever eh?
There are 6 different zones with four events each,
1. Race
2. Battle
3. Race
4. Boss
The race maps are all extremely awesome and completely different in all most every case.
Battle maps are mostly symmetrical and for the most part boring and repetitive but at least they're trying right?
For these maps the gamemodes are...
Knockout, hit your rival until they run out of rings.
When they have no rings remaining you can hit them to win the round.
Usually going first to three but can also go to five.
Tag is tag...hit your rival and run away.
Once someone has been tagged their time starts decreasing, tag someone else to cause the same effect for them and halt your time.
When your time runs out you lose
Ring Battles pit you and a rival in an area with a mass amount of rings.
Have the most rings when time runs out and you win.
Capture the Chao is a basic CTF game.
Snag the other teams flag/chao while protecting your own.
King of the Hill has you fighting to stand in a beam of light. As time goes by you get
points, the first person to get a set amount of points wins.
Lap Race has you doing laps around a track, be the fastest to complete the set laps to win.
The Boss fights pit you and a rival against one of Eggmans sinister machines.
Each are different but have the same idea, Run-Jump-Attack-Run.
Cup Circuit is unlocked for each character after you beat the game with that character.
The cup consists of three races in which if you win you'll get a new outfit for that character.
Single Event is a standard pick your rival and map mode.
Race for fun or try to get some cards.
Freeplay allows you to run through the levels by yourself leaving you searching
for chao that are hidden in the level or trying Time Attack.
The game also has Ad-Hoc and game sharing.
Overall this is most definently an improvement on the original but it still leaves you feeling like somethings missing.
I recorded this on a PSP Phat using Remotejoy and Hypercam 2.
i got a few questions
do the game look better cus ur psp is plugged into a tv or is the graphics and sound really improved?
and is this game really worth hunting down if i have the first?
plz answer
and btw, does anyone else besides me think running bosses r fun?
its a challenge to divide ur attention between keeping ur distance frim enemy
and bieng close enuf to attack it
plz answer

The game looks, plays, and sounds great in all aspects. If you loved the first one then you'll like this one even more but apart from new levels to race through, a few new gamemodes, and more cards to collect there's not much different.

The games are fun but don't last long for me. If you have a friend you could play against I assume these would be much more fun.
