  • I have visited in NY city many times and it is even more wonderful to read his novels since I can clearly visualize places he mentions in his books.I agree with you martwiller, Paul Auster visited in London 2002 if I recall right, and he is a very impressive person.I hope he will visit in Helsinki.....

Pitsku, oletko Stadista Pitajanmaelta? :)).Makin asuin Lontoossa vuosikymmenen.

  • Oups, I wanted to add a +1 and I added a -1.

    Sorry, lol !!

  • Magnetic is the word I would use to describe Mr Auster's novels. I would love to attend a reading too. I wonder if, by coincidence, Mr Auster would get to hear about this wish and let me know when others are coming up. I work in publishing on an Apple and it's difficult to get into his website to find out. I'll be with Mr Bones before sleeping tonight. Tanks for your comment, martwiller. My 'Pitsku' moniker is my Finnish nickname (I live in London).

  • I would also like to visit New York, but I actually met the man in june 2008. I'm from Denmark, and he visited a literary festival last year. He has a magnetic personality, and sitting less than 2 meters from the man, listening to him read passages from "Man In The Dark" (a novel I had read only one month prior to this), was something I'll never forget.

  • I've never been to New York but have always intended to go there. My intention is growing old with me, having been born in the same year as Mr Auster. I love focal points to trips, a poet's grave or whatever (George Orwell recently), so a quick handshake with Mr Auster (or to sit at a reading) would be a great reason to make it to New York. Oracle Night made its way to me via the Amazon this morning and I find it riveting. Thank you and God bless you, Mr. A.
