If you are new to following it seriously, may I suggest you read more about Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich. I personally lean more with Paul because I am a Libertarian but they are not corporate owned puppets like Bush, Obama and the other 95 percent of the leaders in office. Oh yea, last but not least don't watch the main stream media if you are relying on them for any political news whatsoever. I had to learn the hard way cause I was brainwashed for years by Neocons.

I wouldn't say it's an indisputable fact that the Republicans are to blame for this. The last couple years with the Democrats in control has shown me that they are as prone to corruption and sleezy tactics as the Republicans. I would have known it sooner, but I'm young and new to serious politics. The fact that Obama wasn't a strong leader led to congressional misbehaviour.
The economic crisis was a private sector issue, influenced by government on both sides of the aisle.
Also, fuck Rush.
