This is gonna be my next sound card! :) Great piece of equipment for relatively low price. Worth every penny!
-
@NcDrums15 - I think not :) This is an interface, so you records through Firewire and you miks in a software which comes with the card ;)

hey would this adapter work on a macBook pro "Tripp Lite F017-006 IEEE 1394b Firewire 800 Gold Hi-speed Cable, 9pin/6pin" found it on Amazon

@go433 We haven't tested that specific cable so it's hard to say. Best to go for Sonnet FireWire 800 adapter as we know this works.

I think I'm in love with this AI. But i'm afraid I'll have issues with my new mac pro with the firewire 800 port. I read so many issues about that...Did you guys solve this issue?

@tobysuniverse Hi there. We have seen some unusual issues with some FireWire 400 to 800 adapters and as such we have a recommend using the Sonnet adapter as featured on our answerbase (search Sonnet). This is not the only adapter that will work, but it is one that we know will work. In general, this unit will work well with your new Mac Pro.

Hi. How many Individual tracks at the same time can this record with firewire? I mean, not a mix of the tracks or something. Having each individual track in the DAW. For example, recording a guitar and vocals at the same time, then having the guitar track, the vocals track, etc. All through firewire.
Thanks!!!

@serknor This can record 8 inputs simultaneously. Two via the preamps, two line inputs, two S/PDIF inputs and two loopback inputs.
