  • One of Benny's greatest scores...and one of the best in film history.

I'm not really crazy about Herrmann, but I do like this score. This, Vertigo and Taxi Driver are his best work.

  • I like Hermanns mixture of the dramatic, the explosive and the romantic.

  • By Hermann's own evaluation, his finest score and I agree, one of the most romantic and atmospheric scores ever written for the cinema

  • Herrmann had this as his favorite work. And it's sublime.

  • @KL0098 Herrmann forces you to feel the sea. I do not know where you live, but one must experience the ocean in all of her cruel magesty! She is an honest, but strict mother!

  • It makes you feel and understand the sea. With Her cruelty and gifts and honesty.
