Cosmos: A Personal Voyage is a thirteen-part television series written by Carl Sagan, Ann Druyan, and Steven Soter, with Sagan as presenter. It was executive-produced by Adrian Malone, produced by David Kennard, Geoffrey Haines-Stiles and Gregory Andorfer, and directed by the producers and David Oyster, Richard Wells, Tom Weidlinger, and others. It covered a wide range of scientific subjects including the origin of life and a perspective of our place in the universe.

The series was first broadcast by the Public Broadcasting Service in 1980, and was the most widely watched series in the history of American public television until The Civil War (1990). As of 2009, it is still the most widely watched PBS series in the world. It won an Emmy and a Peabody Award and has since been broadcast in more than 60 countries and seen by over 500 million people. A book to accompany the series was also published.

9 months late but... beiber may get a bazillion views, but, how many would he get if his videos were re-uploaded 31 years from now?

beiber may get a lot of views NOW, but Carl Sagan still gets views 31 years after this was first broadcast.

  • U R AWESOME!

  • @stalinist666 Nope. Meant troll in it's more popular connotation.

  • @flarecard

Even if I do 'troll' on a regular basis - often that word is used as a synonym for 'people with strong opinions that I do not agree with' - then how does that affect the validity of my statement? I was stating a scientific fact, one that may not have been present during the time this was created.

  • @stalinist666 Nevermind, ignore my earlier comment. A quick check suggests that you attempt to troll on a regular basis. Therefore any attempt by me to point things out is a waste of time.

  • @stalinist666 You'd be hard pressed to find someone respected by the scientific community that isn't of the same opinion.

  • This is disinformation. 31 years on, we still don't know how the first forms of life were formed. This is highly worrying that a respected scientist will jump to conclusions so quickly.

  • Number of views explain that the 3 % of the world population are wise intelegent and bright and i firmly believe that they leave the heritage for thousand of years and direct the development of the humankind. Others just live out their ordinary lives. It is the choice of each individual wether to pay the price and leave footprint on the history of humankind or remain with a crowd. Carl Sagan is one of the examples of the choice №1 - It is worth to be highly respected!

  • @applebutterbaby42 How dare you muck up the wall of this fine video..

  • @applebutterbaby42 Just ignore them, they are irrelevant.

  • If I see one more fucking comment about Justin Bieber in a video not pertaining to Justin Bieber I'm going to skullfuck ever twelve year old, autistic, dick-fister who felt the need to make the same comment about Justin Bieber on every video on YouTube. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
