  • Hi Tim, I will be making a permanent move to NH with my American wife later this year and I am a bit of a DIY fanatic. I have been getting your Newsletter for some time now and the information they contain is invaluable.

Your videos are always informative and well presented. It's good to see what is available on the US market as the building techniques here in the UK are completely different .

Great product and video, keep up the good work, your opinions and hands-on expertise really do count!

  • @DEFT61 Well, welcome a little early! Let me know when you get here. You'll have to attend one of my meet ups here in NH.

  • Not enough information to determine if I would want to use the product on my house. Presently planning a new waterfront home and always interested in hardy/durable products that will stand up to the harsh environment.

  • @Mrjlcarter3 Good point. If, during your search, you discover an OSB product that has a BETTER coating than this one for hurricane-driven rains, by all means PLEASE COME BACK here and comment. I want to know what it is.

  • What about the nail holes that go into it when putting on the shigels on this new sheathing ? Is anything done diff. for that? Fig. i'd ask being the tape for the seams.

  • @RobbinMoede Nothing needs to be done for the nail holes. Remember, the coating is a LAST DEFENSE. You should never have to rely on it except in a dire emergency.

  • Can you walk on it?

  • This looks like a great idea but I wonder if it may restrict moisture movement through walls. Will this trap moist air in the walls if a vapor barrier is also used inside? I've seen some horrifying videos of mold and water damage in homes built with OSB/styrofoam panels. They all had some defect or leak that allowed water or condensation to accumulate with no route for drainage or evaporation. Assuming that no home is perfect (a reasonable assumption), could this be a potential disaster?

  • Great info...did not know that this option existed!!

  • As always a very informative video. Love your videos and columns.

  • Always interested in the latest products for builders.
