May I show you our self-made inside aviary? We built it for our adopted Linnies Henry & Christo. The two birdies live at Markus, the elder son of my husband Ludwig. I care for them the way I do for my own birds.

We had a lot of fun - the Linnies too!

It is little bit difficult for me to describe our work in English - but if you have some question, please ask me :-)

Starring: Markus, Ludwig and the birdies Henry & Christo
Directed by Monika
Produced in Germany, Oktober 2007

  • I just rescued a Quaker parrot and I want to give her a bigger home. The family she was with was very mean to her so i took her in. would a cage like your be okay for her?

  • @Sundown90731

You did a good job to rescue this bird! My birds are about 16 cm (6,5 in) long. They are much smaller than a quaker. I think, the dimensions of the cage should be double as ours. Good luck!

  • i've watch all of your videos today. i'm so impressed with each. one made me cry. one made me laugh. the rest made me smile. i learned this incredible cage is for a blind bird and his friend, that yellow blotches around the eyes means the linnie is getting older, that what my mom said about holding hands would make me pregnant might be true after all, and if there is reincarnation, i want to come back as one of your birds.

Oh Mary ... your words are going straight to my heart. Yes indeed ... I love my birds very very much. They are family members. 15 years ago I decided never to keep birds because I feel that birds belong to the nature. But then I saw these awesome little green heartbreakers in a pet shop and made me guilty again. Although I know that my birds are "prisoners" I promised to practice a natural bird attitude :-))) Thanks again for your kind words! :-*, Monika

  • its like bird heaven

  • i'm with ya. i didn't want to possess any being, but 7 years ago i was brought a 3 day old sparrow that authorities wanted to put down. too crippled to let go, she ('miracle-blessing') still remains with me. SUCH a smart and demanding little bird. love of my life. i was given her next best friend, my beloved canary 'sunny' who died too soon. i'm still devastated. since then i've been been given canaries and cockatiels. i hire people to help, but my dream is to do it all. they're my whole world.

  • Good work!

  • can i print this out

  • fantastic job!!!! well done!!! i hope i could make one like this!!!
