  • Finally !!! I was trying to get this awesome song by no other than the amazing singer Rita.. It's 80's and i was just a boy but i love this song from the very first time a heard, i remember, from the radio of one of our neighbour !! Since then, this song n Rita became listed among my all time favorites !! Oh..bring back so long gone days..bittersweet memories..!! I can picture back how I, as a boy, got 'fever' when that pretty girl shows around !! ha..ha..!!

  • Bobby Charles wrote this song. It has been recorded by many. Bobby co-wrote "Walking to New Orleans" with Fats Domino He also wrote "Later Alligator", "Tennessee Blues and so many other great songs.

  • Is Rita aboriginal? I didn't know that. I love this girl's voice. Thank you for posting. Been trying to get it for ages. Wonder what she's doing now...and where.... Thank you.

  • She is not very versatile, so what? Just love her voice.,

  • @olsnuff53 It's Jay Graydon - what a soloist!

  • Did you ever hear the Dutch version of this song from the singer Monica West?

It's called "De wieg". (which means The Cradle)

  • I had one album of her's when I was young and wore it out. I knew words to every song .It was a lonely time for me but I felt she was just as lonely, and now I look at it as the good times of my life. She is one of my favorite singers. Thanks for putting it out here. YouTube is a wonderful thing.
