@centuryhousedw Richard's voice does seem to have held up well. He isn't quite as good at pulling off some of his old dance moves, though ;-)

I sure wish more of my fellow Yanks knew about "The Skids".
Stuart Adamson was the whole reason I picked up a guitar and learned to play it - though, obviously, nowhere near as well as Stuart did.
I'm really amazed at the quality of the old live performances by The Skids. They were a pretty tight outfit - much better than many punk/post-punk bands of their era.

\First time I've seen this video and to be honest it sounds amazing, wish I had been there, Stuart is a big loss as far as music is concerned but I'd like to think he was about that night in spirit.

Hey I was there and they sounded fantastic. Joby aint lost it and we all had a top night they were first class!!! And still sounds good watching on youtube, sorry Stuart aint there but he was a legend in his own right rip....

i thought his voice was great and the other 2 wee bands didnt do it justice keep it up

You forget that Richard is 30 years older so his voice aint as good but the Skids were one of the defining sounds of a generation. Stuart Adamson [rip] had a guitar sound that inluenced many artists and later formed Big Country. Live the band was one of the best around. Check out early Skids stuff on youtube and see why.

Actually I thought his voice was great - I can't believe that 30 years later they still sound that good!
