The Skids kicked off the first of two nights at Dunfermline Glen Pavilion on 4th July. It was a warm up for their 30th Anniversary reunion appearance at T in the Park. Here they play 'The Saints Are Coming' as recently covered by U2 and Green Day.

  • You forget that Richard is 30 years older so his voice aint as good but the Skids were one of the defining sounds of a generation. Stuart Adamson [rip] had a guitar sound that inluenced many artists and later formed Big Country. Live the band was one of the best around. Check out early Skids stuff on youtube and see why.

  • Actually I thought his voice was great - I can't believe that 30 years later they still sound that good!

  • @centuryhousedw Richard's voice does seem to have held up well. He isn't quite as good at pulling off some of his old dance moves, though ;-)

  • I sure wish more of my fellow Yanks knew about "The Skids".

Stuart Adamson was the whole reason I picked up a guitar and learned to play it - though, obviously, nowhere near as well as Stuart did.

I'm really amazed at the quality of the old live performances by The Skids. They were a pretty tight outfit - much better than many punk/post-punk bands of their era.

  • \First time I've seen this video and to be honest it sounds amazing, wish I had been there, Stuart is a big loss as far as music is concerned but I'd like to think he was about that night in spirit.

  • Hey I was there and they sounded fantastic. Joby aint lost it and we all had a top night they were first class!!! And still sounds good watching on youtube, sorry Stuart aint there but he was a legend in his own right rip....

  • i thought his voice was great and the other 2 wee bands didnt do it justice keep it up
