  • I think they're BOTH the right guitar! :) I love your style, man! We'd have a good time playing together!

  • @shango02005 thx if you are ever in socal give me message always looking for people to play with

  • I have a few nice guitars. I think you could make any guitar sound good. Thats what really counts. John O.

  • Thanks. Just takes a bit of practice. A MIM tele or Strat or Epi Les Paul with a good setup and fret job will work for any good player. (might have to get rid of a few junk switches)

  • Deluxe Ash is so very warm-that is an awesome tone. I am about to buy a new axe and cannot make up my mind between tele or strat. I am a rocker and want a good thick clean tone.

  • Strat makes a different tone and is more versatile. HSS strat has the most crunchy power, more thick. So do you want to sound more like Springsteen or Keith Richards (for example of Tele players) or Hendrix, SRV, or Jeff Beck (Strat players).

  • Too many variables between the two guitars: body woods fingerboard woods; hardware; pickups; weight. It would have been better to compare alder ans ash bodies with the same electronics, hardware, and fingerboard woods. Also, most people don't usually play the neck pickup on a Tele. While a like to hear all three possibilities, I prefer the bridge pickup for overall comparison. Great playing!

  • I like the rosewood fretboard,it sounds a little warmer! The 52 does sound good too!

  • I'd go with the 52, and you seem to play better on that one.

  • I like the first one.

  • @frankiebguitar I will do that! Keep jammin'!

  • ...meant the deluxe, not the 52.

  • 62 is more airy. The 52 is more raw. Tough call. They both sound great, just different. And, of course, they feel different.

  • the difference in tone has less to do with the the fretboards, and more with the pups. I actually like the look of the Black with rosewood more, but that Deluxe Ash sounds amazing. It sounds like a boutique guitar, whereas the 62 sounds, I don't know. Ordinary. I like it, but it lacks the sparkle of the Ash.
