Fremont Police Officer Shot in East Oakland

Police say a 20-year-old parolee shot a Fremont officer during the process of serving a search warrant in East Oakland on the afternoon of Friday, Aug. 27. The officer shot was in a multiagency drug and gang task force. He was not wearing a police uniform at the time, according to reports. An Oakland police officer at the scene told cop watchers that the OPD were aware of that day's operation by the Fremont Officer but that his department did not directly participate in it.
