@d4niels0n z-cars then sold the rights to the Smart conversion. It is now owned by Smartuki Motorsport Ltd. Their conversion uses the GSXR1000 engine which is rear mounted so you don't lose the passenger seat making it much more practical. Check them out at smartuki com

This is the Smart Diablo made by Arrepiado in Portugal. It's got a 1300cc Hayabusa Engine with Turbo, and to answer which Gearbox it's got, it's a Sequential.

it was an englishman called peter bee who thought of the idea of putting a suzuki GSXR1000 in a smart and Z cars (a company in england that spacialise in putting motorbike engines in small cars) who made the first transplants then others soon followed
